RISK AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

All of Frame Textile Groups operating units are covered by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act No. 85 of 1993). Full compliance in terms of the Act takes place ensuring that we have a safe working environment. Regular audits and updates both internally and by external auditors occur, thereby maintaining the required high standard of conformance. Particular emphasis is given to all elements of health and safety in the working environment where regular assessments of noise levels, cotton dust levels, and overall housekeeping take place. We have in house clinics on all our sites ensuring easily and accessible health care for all employees.

Operational units are fully insured with regular risk assessments taking place by specialist risk management professionals. We also have safety steering committees consisting of elected members from amongst employees. We are constantly reducing our risk profile through pro-active programs focused on improvement in all areas of our business.

The Frame Textile Group complies in all material aspects with applicable environmental laws and regulations. Specific attention is given to all aspects of waste disposal, hazardous chemical storage and usage, effluent removal and recycling, as well as smoke emissions.

ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

Frame Textile Group's activities comprises of manufacturing , marketing and selling of a wide variety of spun, woven, knitted, non-woven, made-up and chemical products for an equally widely diversified market. Frame Textile Group recognizes the impact of its activities on the environment and the need for environmental improvement which is also achieved by compliance with all requirements of the SABS ISO 14001 Standard for Environmental Management System. The above is achieved through our commitment to:

Prevention of pollution through waste minimization, reduction in resource consumption and reduction in effluent and emissions.

Comply with relevant environmental legislation and regulations, and industry code of practice that we subscribe to.

Establishment, achievement, maintenance and reviewing of objectives and targets for continual improvement of our environmental performance and our Environmental Management System (EMS).

Understanding and ownership of the EMS by employees through appropriate environmental awareness training.

Making the Environmental Policy available to all interested parties including customers, suppliers, contractors, neighbors and general public.

Having all our Business Units certified as ISO 14001 complying organizations with their individual and specific objectives and targets which are revised at least annually.
